The Heart Behind ZODU:
A Family’s Journey of Care

ZODU began with a dream—born from the union of ZO (Zoraida) and DU (the Duany family)—to transform healthcare into something deeply personal and compassionate.

For Dr. Efrain Duany, LMFT-S, an immigrant from Cuba, the journey to founding ZODU was one of resilience. As a pastor, entrepreneur, author, and therapist, he has dedicated over 20 years to helping families find healing through whole-person care, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.

Zoraida Duany brought her heart for teaching and her passion for mental health to the mission. As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and future BCBA, she supports children and families in overcoming developmental and emotional challenges.

With their children—Jasmin, a certified speech-language pathologist, and Samuel, a doctor of physical therapy completing his specialization in orthopedics—the Duany family turned their vision into reality. Together, they created ZODU: a family-driven, holistic healthcare provider committed to walking with your family every step of the way.
